Yoga Nidra is done through the use of breath work, body scanning and awareness, visualization and meditative imagery, as well as other techniques that can calm and quiet the mind. The practice of yoga nidra drops in through deep brain-wave states to balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.

When the mind is restful, the body moves into homeostatic balance where restoration and healing can occur––physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Some Benefits:

  • Alleviate stress levels

  • Decrease anxiety and racing thoughts

  • Ease insomnia and sleeplessness

  • Help to reduce PTSD, chronic pain, and chemical/substance dependency

  • Transform negative habits, behaviors and ways of thinking

  • Foster feelings of serenity, calm, relaxation, and clarity

  • Heighten awareness, focus, and peace

Let’s be honest––life is pretty hectic nowadays. The biorhythms in our body have been affected from an increase in stress, nonstop cellphone and computer use, and “busy” lives that never rest.

We now think of our experiences of high stress as “normal”. With Yoga Nidra, we can reshape our understanding and relationship towards anxiety and stress – learning, and knowing that our body will do everything it needs to to heal itself.

Our bodies have an innate healing intelligence, and we must train the brain back to a more balanced relationship to sleep, stress management, anxiety, managing our days.
